Economics beyond extraction.
Something in the economy is being drawn down faster than it comes back. You have noticed it in the price of food and the cost of a roof, in how tired your attention is by noon, in how little you trust the institutions you still depend on. This magazine starts from a different premise than the one you have been offered: extraction is a logic, not a law, and a regenerative economy already exists in theory, in practice, and in evidence.

TEST 2
This is another test - test 2…
Eight sections. One reader at two hours of the day.
The free tier is for the person who has noticed. The member tier is for the person whose job is to measure, finance, or govern what they noticed. We think these are the same person.
A diagnosis, not a doctrine.
- We report what we can verify and mark what we cannot.
- Analysis is labeled as analysis. Opinion as opinion. Case evidence names its source, its method, and its limits.
- We pay our contributors.
- A publication whose thesis is that extraction is the problem will not run on unpaid labor from its own community. Writers keep their copyright.
- We take no advertising.
- No paid placement, no sponsored articles. Our revenue is memberships. If that ever changes, this charter will say so first.
- We publish people who disagree with us.
- The regenerative lineage is not one school. The masthead carries a premise; the pages carry an argument.
We write in the tradition of Meadows, Daly, Ostrom, Raworth, Fullerton, Wahl, Sanford, Mang and Haggard, Kimmerer, Rodale, and Brown, and we read the extractive economy through Polanyi, Scott, Zuboff, Graeber, and Keen.
